History

RMI was founded in November 2005 as an independent institute. The research institute for coating materials, façade systems and healthy living has been named after Dr. Robert Murjahn, the former owner of Deutsche Amphibolin Werke (DAW). He was a passionate chemist and the man behind many pioneering innovations. These includes dispersion paint technology which he developed in 1936 and which is a global technology standard today. Emerging from DAW as an independent institute, RMI has been building bridges between industry, fundamental research, the market and the public and operates in accordance with strict scientific criteria.

On November 3rd 2015, RMI celebrated its 10th anniversary together with customers and Partners.
